Trauma Therapy with Joelle
“Trauma therapy” can sound intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. With 7+ years of experience and a range of approaches, we’ll go at a pace that feels manageable and choose methods that actually fit you—no forcing, no overwhelm.
My Experience
I’ve worked with a wide range of trauma presentations, from single-incident events (accidents, injuries) to more complex, long-standing patterns (abuse, childhood wounds). My focus is on helping you feel more stable, less reactive, and more like yourself again—not just revisiting the past.
Approaches
I draw from a mix of evidence-based and integrative methods, depending on what works best for you:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – helps the brain reprocess stuck memories so they lose their intensity
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) – practical tools to shift thought patterns and reduce anxiety
TIR (Traumatic Incident Reduction) – structured, repetitive processing to resolve specific events
LSI (Lifespan Integration) – gently organizes past experiences so they feel complete rather than ongoing
Flash Technique – a low-intensity way to process trauma without needing to go into detail
Ego State Therapy – works with different “parts” of self to reduce internal conflict and build stability
What to Expect
We’ll start with history-taking as well as grounding and stabilization, then move into processing only when it feels appropriate. You stay in control of the pace the entire time.
